I created a new blank page and copied to it a simple text to be sure the bug isn't related to some coding of the site pages - again if you scroll the page the menu won't work as it should. You may go directly to http://www.cimar.org/ciimar2010/en/test.htm to check it out. |

Menu opens under video...
I switched from vertical to a fixed horizontal menu to go on (waiting for a reply regarding the bug on activation mechanism reported yesterday). Although I put on the option to force the menu go over page pull-down menus, it still goes under embeded videos. See http://www.cimar.org/ciimar2010 and open the sub-menu multimedia after the video starts. Carlos Gil Martins |

Hello Carlos,
First of all I didn't had a chance to see what was happening with the vertical menu as you changed it to a horizontal. Regarding the horizontal menu now, besides the issue with the menu being displayed below the movie (media player) element, is there any other issue? If you want the menu to scroll down, you need to enable the menu scrolling. To enable the menu scrolling you need to select the "Main Menu" item (from the structure tree on the left of the menu creator) then click on the AutoScroll options and enable AutoScroll for the Vertical Axis. Now regarding the menu going under the movie: The setting which you toggled (Menu Appears over dropdowns...) has to do only with Internet Explorer and the <Select> HTML element. If you want the menu to appear over a Flash clip you need to enable the Flash Transparent Mode: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14201.html In your case you are using neither a Drop Down Menu, nor a Flash movie. You are using Windows Media Player which is also a windowed element, so the menu will display under the Media Player. So the only solution you can use, is the option to hide the element whenever a submenu appears that will be in the place where the media player is. In your current menu, the submenu that appears under the media player is the submenu "Multimedia". So we have to change the menu to hide the media player whenever the Multimedia submenu appears. To achieve this, first you need to assign an ID to the media player element, so that the menu can later hide this element, based on it's id. This is pretty straightforward: Change <embed TYPE="application/x-mplayer2" width="480" height="330" src="../video/CIIMAR-en.wmv" ShowControls="1" ShowStatusBar="0" ShowDisplay="0" autostart="1" loop="1" border="0"> to <embed Id="MPlayer" TYPE="application/x-mplayer2" width="480" height="330" src="../video/CIIMAR-en.wmv" ShowControls="1" ShowStatusBar="0" ShowDisplay="0" autostart="1" loop="1" border="0"> So now your media player has the Id value "Mplayer". Now open the menu creator, open you menu, then select the "Multimedia" item from the structure tree. Switch on "Advanced Editing Mode", by either using the DropDown menu located to the right of the menu creator (right above the menu options group), or by using the View-->Show Advanced Options menu. Now click the "Advanced Menu Options" Setting group and enter in the "Elements to hide by Id" the value Mplayer. Compile the menu, update it on your website and check it out. Now whenever the Multimedia Submenu opens, the media player should disapear and vice versa.

Hello Lefertis,
Thanks for the tips. Now regarding the vertical menu leftclick activation problem (I attached the spfx file in a previous post), I restored the vertical menu on the page http://www.cimar.org/ciimar2010/en/test.htm for you to try it. Carlos Gil Martins |

Hi Lefertis,
Again the activation bug... I opened The Pop-up menu Creator, Made a one button menu with and without header bar, tryed left- and right-click activation, didnīt change anything else and tried it with a simple page full of text - The activation only works at the top of the page. If you scroll down it won't work. So did you managed to have a working click-activated menu with this version of the program? It worked OK with version 4.x...! Really in need of a fix to this... Hi Lefteris
I'm just getting to grips with version 5 after having used 4 for many years. It's looking very good so far. I'm creating a new menu and when I click on the positioning wizard to select a file, it does not show any files in the window. I do use the .htm extension, not .html, but shouldn't it show them when I click the Files of type *.htm? |
